Screening of Commercially Available Chlorine Based Sanitizers and their Efficacy in Reducing Microbial Load Levels of E. coli O157:H7 at High and Low Organic Load Environments
The presence of postharvest sanitizers has shown to be an effective approach to reducing microbial cross contamination in agricultural washing operations. However, choosing an appropriate sanitizer can be challenging due to produce commodity, processing conditions and interference with organic load. Current research shows a wide variety of methods to mimic the organic load of vegetable processing conditions, with paddle mixing and blender as the most commonly used. Controlling and understanding the physiochemical properties of wash water is key in maintaining sanitizer efficacy. The effects of simulated wash water preparation method on the physiochemical properties were tested at 0 and 50 COD(mg/L) and no significant difference was observed. However, at high levels of organic load results showed a significant difference between turbidity values at 1,500 COD. Free residual chlorine titration methods were compared, using DPD-titrimetric and Iodometric method. Results showed a significant difference between titration methods in organic load heavy environments. Commercially available chlorine based sanitizers, Pure Bright™ Germicidal Bleach and Clorox® Germicidal Bleach, were compared to a concentrated solution of sodium hypochlorite. Pure Bright™ Germicidal Bleach showed to perform the best by reducing 7 log CFU/ml of E. coli O157:H7 after 30 seconds in no organic load environments, whereas Clorox Germicidal bleach was able to reduce 7 log CFU/ml of E. coli O157:H7 after 30 minutes. CONOCIMIENTO DE LOS EXPENDEDORES DE CARNE SOBRE EL FAENAMIENTO Y COMERCIALIZACIÓN, A TRAVÉS DE ANÁLISIS IMPLICATIVO Y DESCRIPTIVO. ESTUDIO DE CASO CAMAL RIOBAMBACHIMBORAZO- ECUADOR
In Ecuador meat is a basic part of the typical family diet. The investigation carried out uses descriptive and implicative statistical analysis to measure the perception and knowledge of meat retailers in the retail sector in the city of Riobamba, Ecuador. The study was conducted in 2015, with a sample of 471 participants, with 97% confidence level and an error of 5%. The information was gathered through a 30-question survey regarding product quality, and knowledge and perceptions of the retailers on meat sales. Chic y Excell were used for the tabulation of results. It was observed that the meat retailers do not handle their own business matters such as legislation or relevant aspects that affect the quality of the product offered to the public. It is determined that the sale of meat in the retail sector of the city considers three main actors: 58.4% of distributors who buy the butchered meat, 30.4% of middlemen who buy animals and skin them, and 7.9 % of producers who breed the animals that they skin. In the city sales are comprised of 22.5% white meat, 45.2% red meat and 31.6% both. In addition, 39.9% of meat sales happen in neighborhood stores, 21.4% in meat markets, 18.5% in fixed market stalls, 11.9% in farmer’s markets, and 7% in supermarkets. The professional skills profile of a public affairs practitioner in Spain
Purpose: The present study identifies the professional skills profile that a Public Affairs (PA) practitioner of a major company or an organization representing the interests of various economic sectors should have in Spain.
Design/methodology: The study uses a mixed qualitative and quantitative methodology. The initial identification of the competences, as well as the general functions of the profile to be evaluated, has been carried out using the in-depth interview technique with the directors of APRI (Association of Professionals of Institutional Relations of Spain), who defined these competencies from their expert perspective. Subsequently, through a survey of seventy-two managers, sufficient data were obtained to statistically process the information and obtain significant results in the identification of such competences. This information has been processed, firstly, through factorial analysis, which has made it possible to synthesize these competences. Once the analysis of factors was carried out, a cluster analysis is added for the classification of the respondents or managers.
Findings: The perception of the interviewed executives has been determined regarding the functions that an institutional relations practitioner must fulfill. It should be noted that this is a profession for which there is no clarity about the role and the legitimacy of its members, particularly in Spain. In fact, it is associated with a function that is seen as exerting undue pressure on political power. A field study was conducted to determine the opinion of these managers on the competences that a professional in institutional relations should have.
Originality/value: This study provides a description of the job position of a person responsible for institutional relations in Spain. Moreover, it adds a typology of managers, according to the competences defined for the person responsible for institutional relations.Peer Reviewe
Influencia del Subsistema de Aprovisionamiento de Recursos Humanos en el Desempeño Laboral de los trabajadores de la Policía Nacional de Tránsito Matagalpa, Año 2015.
El presente trabajo propone un tema de gran importancia para la gerencia moderna denominado “El sistema de Administración de Recursos Humanos y el Subsistema de Aprovisionamiento aplicado en las empresas del municipio de Matagalpa, año 2015.” Teniendo en cuenta la “Influencia del subsistema de aprovisionamiento de recursos humanos en el desempeño laboral de los trabajadores de la Policía Nacional de Tránsito Matagalpa, año 2015.”
Con este estudio se pretende, no solamente saber cómo se manejan los RRHH, sino cuales son los métodos y técnicas administrativos que se utilizan en el proceso de aprovisionamiento, reclutamiento, selección de los agentes del orden público, y las acciones propias he inherentes a los RRHH.

The reading of hypertexts, their use and their incidence in communicative and Llnguistic practice in university students
La investigación se relaciona con la denominada sociedad de la información y la delimita
al campo de la lectura de hipertextos y al uso, la apropiación y la reconfiguración de los
nuevos lenguajes que encierran. En ese sentido, el estudio adelantado ofrece una explicación del
lenguaje que se ha creado en Internet y de las nuevas prácticas comunicativas y lingüísticas
(NPCL) que este ha generado entre los jóvenes universitarios. El estudio del hipertexto
implica la necesidad de revisar el currículo y las prácticas de enseñanza en los cursos
universitarios de producción y comprensión de textos, centrados hoy en la lengua castellana.
También se considera importante establecer una regulación o unas normas mínimas a través
de textos instructivos que les den un marco a los modos de lectura de hipertextos que se
han abierto paso en la sociedad de la información. Este sería un reto para asumir, en especial
por parte de las universidades y el Estado, pues es evidente la incidencia de la lectura de
hipertextos en las nuevas prácticas lingüísticas y comunicativas de los jóvenes

Efeitos do treinamento intermitente de alta intensidade no perfil lipídico e glicemia de universitários com sobrepeso/obesidade
Introducción: El Entrenamiento Interválico de Alta Intensidad (HIIT) implica desarrollar ejercicios en períodos cortos de tiempo con alta intensidad, seguidos de períodos de descanso entre las series de ejercicios realizados, y se considera una herramienta importante para combatir la obesidad. Por lo tanto, el presente trabajo tuvo como objetivo identificar los efectos del entrenamiento intermitente de alta intensidad sobre el perfil lipídico en estudiantes universitarios con sobrepeso y obesidad. Materiales y métodos: estudio cuasi-experimental, conformado por una muestra de 30 estudiantes, quienes fueron asignados aleatoriamente en dos grupos de 15 estudiantes, quedando así un grupo control (entrenamiento continuo): 15 y un grupo experimental (ejercicio intermitente de alta intensidad: 15. Además, se realizaron pruebas de laboratorio antes y después del entrenamiento para determinar el perfil lipídico, así como la realización de 20 sesiones de entrenamiento, las cuales se distribuyeron tres veces por semana, con una duración promedio de 50 minutos, adicionalmente se realizó la pruebas estadísticas con un nivel de significación estadística de p < 0,05. Resultados: existe una relación estadísticamente significativa en el valor de HDL del grupo control y experimental, los valores de Glucosa muestran relaciones estadísticamente significativas en el grupo experimental (p = 0,001) Conclusiones: El entrenamiento intermitente de alta intensidad y el trabajo continuo de intensidad moderada generan una disminución de las variables LDL y Triglicéridos y un aumento de HDL. Estos datos, no son estadísticamente significativos después de 20 sesiones de entrenamiento. Sin embargo, el entrenamiento intermitente de alta intensidad da como resultado una disminución de la glucosa en personas con sobrepeso y obesidad.

Introduction: High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) involves developing exercises in short periods of time with high intensity, followed by periods of rest between the series of exercises performed, and is considered an important tool to combat obesity. Therefore, the present work aimed to identify the effects of high-intensity intermittent training on the lipid profile in overweight and obese university students. Materials and methods: quasi-experimental study, consisting of a sample of 30 students, who were randomly assigned into two groups of 15 students, thus leaving a control group (continuous training): 15 and an experimental group (intermittent exercise of high intensity: 15. Moreover, there were carried out Laboratory tests before and after training to find the lipid profile. Also, the realization of 20 training sessions, which were distributed three times a week, with an average duration of 50 minutes. Additionally, the performed of statistical tests with a level of statistical significance of p <0.05. Results: there is a statistically significant relationship in the HDL value of the control and experimental group. The Glucose values show statistically significant relationships in the experimental group (p = 0.001). Conclusions: Intermittent high-intensity training and continuous moderate-intensity work generate a decrease in LDL and Triglycerides variables and an increase in HDL. However, they are not statistically significant after 20 training sessions. However, high-intensity intermittent training results in glucose-lowering in overweight and obese people.

Conclusões: Treinamento intermitente de alta intensidade e trabalho contínuo de intensidade moderada geram diminuição das variáveis de LDL e triglicerídeos e aumento de HDL. Embora, eles não são estatisticamente significativos após 20 sessões de treinamento. No entanto, o treinamento intermitente de alta intensidade resulta na redução da glicose em pessoas com sobrepeso e obesas.

En busca de combustible, el hombre ha empleado durante décadas recursos no renovables como el petróleo, causando daños devastadores al medio ambiente, es por ello que la mayoría de empresas y entidades gubernamentales responsables de la producción energética en nuestro país y en el mundo se han interesado en la búsqueda de energías limpias y renovables, siendo estas la respuesta racional a los futuros problemas de abastecimiento energético. Macroproyecto: estrategias y acciones para el cierre de brechas en capital humano en el sector metalmecánico de Caldas
Esta investigación ha contribuido a generar estrategias y acciones para el cierre de las brechas encontradas en la gestión del talento humano de las empresas del subsector metalmecánico estudiado. Da claridad de lo que sucede al interior de las empresas analizadas en torno a su capital humano y brinda evidencias acerca de aspectos organizacionales con debilidades que es necesario ajustar bajo la perspectiva del cierre de brechas. El proyecto se desarrolló a partir del análisis de información primaria recolectada mediante encuestas a 33 empresas de la cadena productiva de la Industria manufacturera del sector metalmecánico de Manizales. Al caracterizar el capital humano de las empresas se encontró que no cuentan con perfiles de cargos ni han considerado aspectos demográficos al momento de vincular personal; predomina el personal de género masculino, y en cuanto a contratación prima la vinculación a término fijo. Otro hallazgo es que la mayoría de las empresas no están realizando la gestión de talento/capital humano y se carece de conocimiento y capacidad alrededor del tema de competencias laborales. En referencia a las brechas se hallaron en calidad, cantidad y pertinencia, para cuyo cierre se plantean dos estrategias. Una de alianza entre gobierno, empresas e instituciones educativas para actuar en conjunto sobre las debilidades encontradas, y otra de sensibilización y formación de líderes y directivos del sector en talento/capital humano.This research has contributed to generate strategies and actions to close the gaps found in the management of human talent of the companies of the metalworking subsector studied. It gives clarity of what happens within the companies analyzed around their human capital and provides evidence about organizational aspects with weaknesses that need to be adjusted from the perspective of closing gaps. The project was developed from the analysis of primary information collected through surveys of 33 companies in the manufacturing chain of the manufacturing industry of the metalworking sector of Manizales. When characterizing the human capital of the companies, it was found that they do not have job profiles or have considered demographic aspects when linking personnel; Male staff predominates, and in terms of hiring, fixed-term employment is a priority. Another finding is that most companies are not performing talent / human capital management and there is a lack of knowledge and capacity around the subject of job skills. In reference to the gaps they were in quality, quantity and relevance, for whose closure two strategies are proposed. One of alliance between government, companies and educational institutions to act together on the weaknesses found, and another for raising awareness and training of leaders and managers of the sector in talent / human capital
